When in Texas

When traveling in Texas, one of the first things a person notices is...

there is whole lot of Texas in Texas.

Our second day on this leg of our journey brought us from Pecos to Ranger. We settled into an small RV park with a few other folks wanting to get off the road for the evening.

After two "long days" we decided to stay here a few days to rest and get caught up with business.

When travel days feel long, we have the occasion to recall "back when we were young" how we drove non-stop from Chicago to halfway across Montana. The roads feel longer these days. I suppose driving a motor home rather than a little sports car might have a bit to do with it.

I can tell you it is a fine pleasure after a days travel to walk into the "house" part of the rig, sit back in the reclining chair with a fresh hot cup of coffee and relax. Life is good.
