Books! Woo-hoo!

01/06/2006

A very generous, warm-hearted person bestowed a gift-certificate upon us at the end of last year. It was the kind where you could choose the type of store where it can be redeemed and then choose the particular store from the list of participants.

We choose books (yea books), and popped over to the Barnes and Noble website to redeem our certificate. Mr. B chose a programming book he had his eye on. (There really was one he didn't have yet) and I spent hours checking through the year end clearance sales.

"Thriftiness" is a basic part of my nature, so investigating books with teeny price tags gave me an exciting evening.

The books arrived today!

William browsed through his book while he walked the dog (I guess you call that multi-tasking) and declared it to be all he had hoped it to be.

My books include novels and books on quilting. And one is about making stuffed bears that I couldn't pass up. Just wait until this bummer cold/flu thingy is over. Woo-hoo!

In the meantime I'll read these novels about a sentient computer that becomes a detective. (I'll let you know.)

PS. We split that certificate 50/50. Told you I could squeeze a nickel.
