Letters from loved ones are still the bright spot of every week, even if, these days, the letter may come via email rather than the post office.
Our pride and joy, son Todd, writes as often as he remembers to log onto his computer. (We have not yet converted him to geekdom.) This was part of a recent note...
Work is the same; we have been fairly busy at night lately. We had a house fire the other day; here is a picture of the house while we were working.
I am the one at the top. The three of us were cutting a hole in the roof to let the smoke and heat out of the building, so the interior crew could see better. We got the fire put out very quickly and saved most of the structure. Only one room was burnt, but there was smoke damage through the entire house.
The important thing is that no one was hurt! (One cadet did rip his pants though only injured his pride.)
