We're Here!

The coast beckoned and we arrived.

The trip took longer than we imagined, due to one thing and another. No problem, really, as we are always home, wherever we are.

I tried to explain that phenomenon to the woman who cut my hair recently.

Side note: Getting frequent haircuts is one thing I haven't mastered yet in this full-timing life. When we are stopped in a "big-rig" friendly parking lot, it is a joyous day when I spot a hair-care business with time to slide me in and out of the chair, lickety-split. Such situations seem scarce as hen's teeth when I really need my locks trimmed. (Mr. B has a built-in barber.)

Where were we- oh, yes. Arriving at the coast!

When finally we pulled into Portland after following the scenic highway along the Columbia River (I was so excited to see trees in abundance again as we passed over the Cascade Range) we flipped a coin, decided to explore the Washington coastline first, and headed north.

This coastline brings back mega-memories as this is the road we traveled together when we first "got together". (Mr. and Mrs. B first met on the internet in 1997.)

We've stopped near Grayland at a park that boasts 18 miles of beach to ramble. We shall pry ourselves from our computers and make the half-mile walk across the dunes to the beach several times before we leave here.

Should I whisper our plans for further Washington adventures? The Olympia Peninsula fascinates and tempts me as I've not been there yet. Keep your fingers crossed!
