As Will reported in his blog, it has been an "interesting" week.
Begin with the loss of our internet connection via that "bird in the sky" on Sunday, and when the situation wasn't resolved by Monday morning, a trip to Salt Lake City and the Motosat headquarters to get it fixed.
We now know that Utah has a state holiday that closed all businesses on Monday, so we waited until Tuesday before anyone was around to make the repair.
Thus our original plan to scoot swiftly from the Wyoming border across Idaho and Oregon to the coast on Monday thru Wednesday was altered significantly.
A late start on Tuesday after getting the problem fixed and attending to the volume of email (our customers need care, too) got us from Salt Lake City to across the Idaho border by Tuesday nite.
Wednesday was a longer than wise travel day as I felt the urge to get into Oregon. We were greeted with 100 degree heat.
Eastern Oregon boasts some significant scenery and we soaked it in as we rolled. Road signs continually reminded us that we were on the Oregon trail so my thoughts were always on how those weary people in the wagon trains might have felt about what they saw as they traveled along this trail; reaching the peak of a mountain to view a wide valley that promised fertile farm lands.
Another travel day- a short one this time- brought us to Hermiston, OR where we are resting and catching up with ourselves, business, and running the AC. Still very hot as this part of Oregon is having heat advisories.
I won't indicate a plan as to when we will get to the coast as it wouldn't do any good. The plan would change; it always does.
