La Veta, Colorado

Guess what! We popped up to Colorado! Soon after we arrived it started raining. And was about 50 degrees. A couple days before and a couple hundred miles south of here, it was 90+ degrees.

The night before we arrived here, we stayed at Sugarite Canyon near Raton, NM. Lovely little canyon but the campground was full so we continued north the next morning.

So here we are- in Cuchara Valley. The road over from Walsenburg, called the Highway of Legends, had exquisite scenery. Just wanted to drink it all in. We stopped at La Veta, a little town of about 900 and found a spot at an RV park in town. That means we can walk from here to the market or the post office. We'll be parked here for a month.

It has been a long time since we lived in town. Several small RV parks are tucked into the residential neighborhoods here in La Veta, CO. When I look out the window, the view across the street includes a white picket fence around the neighbors house-without-wheels.

I love to walk on sidewalks! I've been taking advantage of available sidewalks in morning walks, lately. This morning's walk with Leah included a lovely Iris garden, sunshine, and a wonderful breeze.

Others may take to the wilderness paths. Let me have my neighborhood strolls on the sidewalk.
