Day Off

We've been self-employed in the same business for nearly 8 years, now. Last week we decided it might be a good idea if we took a regularly scheduled "day off" once each week. It is a novel idea, I know, but as of last week we now have office hours 24/6 rather than the previous 24/7 schedule. On Saturday, no one is in the office.

Yesterday was our first scheduled day off, and it turned out to be a forehead slapper. Like "Why didn't we think of this before?"

Mr. B read an entire book, cover to cover, without once jumping up to check his email. (Not that the urge wasn't there.)

In the afternoon, we walked the half-mile to the beach, toting blanket, beverages, and snacks. Fortunately dinner was cooking in the crockpot as we were all ready for a nap upon our return.

It was a successful day off, by all accounts. How often does Saturday come around?
