Wow, the time has whizzed by! I have neglected my journal for web work, knitting and walking the dog. Not a bad life :) Starting to get warm here. Mountain does not always equal cool.
We begin our second year on the road about now. It has been an adventure.
We've been sitting for a whole month- catching up on work and recuperating from 6 weeks of travel this spring. Time to get up and move.
Today we toured the Canyon. Tomorrow we leave Colorado.

Photographs don't really give a good idea of the depth of this canyon. Even being there, it is difficult to grasp.
A ranger happen to be at the lookout (right) when we stopped. She told us that at this point in the canyon, two Eiffel towers could be stood here, one on top of the other. Not having seen the Eiffel tower, the information didn't help much. She also told us that the wall across the canyon at this point is a popular one for rock climbers. Beginning at the bottom, it takes them 3 days of climbing to get to the top.
Birds were soaring below us while we stood there.
